Hello
all! I’m so excited to be back in Montreal this week! I was able to visit a few
different suburbs in the West Island with my friend J, including the
beautiful Beaconsfield, St. Anne de Bellevue and Pointe-Claire. We were lucky
to find Café Marmelade open, as everyone in Québec was closed and
celebrating Saint Jean Baptiste Day today!
Café
Marmelade is located right on Lakeshore at the end of Pointe-Claire’s ‘downtown’
area. We noticed how busy the café was. Each customer seemed to know the owner
and I loved how friendly he was with everyone! Although tiny inside, the space
was used wisely with a bar build along the wall. There were a few seats outside
as well but it was raining pretty hard when we visited.
I
drank a delicious latté and J had a cappuccino. The food looked really good
too even though we weren’t hungry and we quickly found out that all of their sandwiches and subs were gluten-free and vegan friendly! The atmosphere was nice, family and child
friendly but also a great spot for a ‘girls coffee catch up’! I wouldn’t
suggest setting up camp for the day to study here, but it’s definitely a great
spot to stop by and try if you’re a vegan, celiac or even if you just find yourself in
Pointe-Claire!
