Tisserie bakery is a wholesale bakery located in Union City, New Jersey. They primarily serve the hotel and restaurant industry in the NJ and NY area. In addition to serving hotels and restaurants, they cater to offices for breakfast meets or special events.
Tisserie has one retail location - called Tisserie 55 - in midtown, connected to the Park Central Hotel on 8th Avenue between 55th and 56th. We stumbled upon this café while apartment hunting! They have long hours and are open 7 days a week from 7 am to 8 pm.
I was immediately drawn to the antique lighted sign, and as soon as I walked in I was invited by the welcoming smell of coffee and freshly baked goods. I also loved the overhanging lamps which create such a warm atmosphere! The café is quite spacious inside with plenty of seating and free Wi-Fi. They serve all kinds of coffee as well as muffins, scones, pastries, empanadas, quiches and other savory treats. I also saw some soups and sandwiches on the lunch menu. We ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant and had some Stumptown coffee to get us fueled for a day of exploring our new city.
Travel Tip: Check out a show at Carnegie Hall which is just up the street, or grab your coffee to go and stroll through Central Park!
